Matsuyama is capital of Ehime Prefecture on the Shikoku Island (not on the main island of Japan). The ferry there takes roughly three hours from Iwakuni. And we arrived in the sleepy town of Matsuyama around 2PM. The town mainly surrounds the area of Dogo Onsen, which is one of the oldest and most famous onsen (hot spring) in Japan. Many poets have visited there and have written many famous literatures regarding this place.
We checked ourselves into one of the large hotels in the area with our own outdoor private onsen and Japanese-style room. Us in our yukata robes. We couldn't help but take some funny pictures of us in our new clothes.

Our elaborate dinner... Which the first picture was just the appetizers, which included fugu (Japanese pufferfish). Fugu is the poisonous fish that you'd hear about (in movies like Charlie's Angels), but apparently, it is now possible to breed Fugu that is not poisonous. Honestly, I didn't take well with Fugu at all, it tasted kind of bland.
Is it already time to eat again? Breakfast. I wasn't hungry yet, but miraculous I still ate all my food.
After a long hike in the morning to the near by park. I was ready to once again soak my tired feet in the onsen. There are many tea shops where you can soak your feet while having some tea. But instead, we opted to have our feet soaked at this public foot onsen. (Not as nice as our private outdoor one at the hotel though)
